I've been using the Optilife mask, and just got an Aflex machine - my first opportunity to see data. I did a search on the Optilife leak rate, and found a graph that was posted on the forum. At my pressure, I should get an intentional leak of about 25-30 LPM.
So, my question is this: with only 4 days of data, why is the 7-day average leak rate different than the 30-day leak rate? Don't they both calculate based on the 4 days of usage? Seven day rate is in the 20's and 30 day rate is in the high 30's. Just curious how the calcs are done. Maybe it will all sort out once I've got more data to look at. Any thoughts?
I've ordered a card reader, so once I'm able to see the data printed out day by day, it may also make more sense.
Optilfe leak rate
Sure thing mckooi, I did a search on Optilife AND leak, and here is one of the threads. There's a link in one of the posts that gives a good reference table. Most helpful to me was robbieh's chart (see the last post in the thread).

Ibtb: regarding the Optilife mask itself, it has been my new favorite since I got it in May. It is light and unobtrusive, seals well, the "wings" hold my cheeks just enough so they don't puff out at 14 cm. Let's see, what else, the chin strap won't hold your jaw closed, but it's not supposed to,. It s supposed to anchor the pillows assembly, and it also provides a gentle reminder to keep the mouth closed.
Some like a hose that goes up over the head, but I got used to the downward hose with my Activa, and actually prefer it. Only minor downside for me is the air exhaust is straight out, and may dsiturb your sleeping partner. We have now gotten a king size bed for comfort and support, and there's enough real estate that the air exhaust is not a big problem. You do have to get the right size pillows and also use the hose management clip to keep the unit stable.
As far as moving around, I do a lot of that: side to side, on the back, and it stays sealed quite well.
All in all it's a 5 -star mask for me.
