Oral interface - can you prevent drying out?

Post by BarryEye » Sun Sep 09, 2007 8:51 pm

Has anyone figured out a way to prevent your tongue and throat from drying out with an oral interface? I'm specifically thinking of the Oracle or something like it.

What would happen if I could arrange a slow drip of water, like an IV drip, into my mouth? Maybe one drop every 10-20 seconds. I assume we automatically swallow saliva all night long. Why wouldn't that work? Any ideas, anyone? I know it's not good to aspirate water, but our brains must know how to handle continuous saliva production and sleep for 8 hours.
