Soap?

Post by Flying_Norseman » Fri Sep 07, 2007 7:18 pm

I am having a hard time deciding which soap to use to clean my equipment (I just became a hosehead). I picked up some Dial Body Wash that is unscented and for delicate skin. The only thing that worries me is that it says it has a moisturizer. Any thoughts?

I use Johnson's baby shampoo. You do want something pure, with no added miosturizers or anti-bacterial agents. Another good choice would be the plain old Ivory soap in a liquid.

If I'm not mistaken... you'll probably find that Ivory liquid also has a moisturizer in it.

Castile soap works well.

I use Johnsons baby wash with no problems. Avoid antibacterial soaps-they dry out the silicone(thats what I was told)

Hmmm. I can't remember who recomended the Ivory soap but you're probably right. Without the moisturizer, you'd think Ivory would be about the purest soap you could get. I was going to try it, but I think I'll stick with the Johnsons.

Another baby shampoo vote

I clean my mask with Small Wonder Baby Shampoo, which contains no alcohol and no moisturizers and leaves no residue--and is biodegradable to boot! Love the stuff.

Doug.

I use unscented seventh generation dish soap. It works well. I also do a vinegar soak once a month (diluted.)

HEY, YOU SHOULD USE " IVORY DISHWASHING LIQUID "

Post by Guest » Sat Sep 08, 2007 11:47 pm

I posted the "Ivory Diswashing Liquid" and I use it for my hoses, mask parts, and even my snuggle hose & face covers. I am a (1.5 to 2 )month new HOSEHEAD but my DME told me to use nothing but the IVORY as it is so pure and gentle. And I might add, it sure smells nice in the hose and mask. Don't ever use the Dawn and especially the industrial strength unless you want to be replacing parts more often than necessary, I just think that is to strong... That's my O. I wash "EVERYTHING EVERYDAY", my hoses, mask & parts, and I take my humidifier apart & wash it everyday to, I'm afraid this stuff might grow bacteria or fungus as wet as it stays from using the humidifier... I bought a little nail brush with a handle on it to wash the nasal pillow areas as I have the swift 11 nasal pillow mask and it works great Well, that's just this new hoseheads opinion so good luck & take care SleepyNoMore, lol (I wish)
