My Aussie Heated Hose is too short, How do I extend it?

I just received an Aussie Heated Hose and I need to extend the length by approximately 3' in order to rig it to a bungee behind my headboard (as I've read about here).

My questions:
1) How would I extend it, are there short extension hoses?
2) On what end do I put the extension, from machine to Aussie Hose or from Aussie Hose to mask?

You ca purchase short sections of hose online. I would add it before the aussie hose.

Hmmmm. I get spam e-mails daily telling me I can easily and quickly extend my hose. Perhaps one of them?

I agree, this would be the way to do it and not cause rainout.

Everybody that mentions the "Aussie heated hose" provides a link to a website that sells hoses but there is none by that name. How do I find it?

It's not actually called the Aussie heated hose. That is just what we all call it (because the company is in Austrailia) I think it is called the sleep zone heated hose.

Don't be shocked by the first price you see. The $159 or so is in Australian dollars, not U.S. dollars.

Scroll down further on the page and you'll see this:

If you have a Puritan Bennett machine like the 420E that has an extra sensor line (the small tube running down through the inside the middle of the main air hose) you'd need to order this model # of the "heated cpap tube":SZ3.

All other brands of machines (Respironics, ResMed, etc.) need the model # SZ1 "heated cpap tube".

To plug the heated hose into U.S. electrical outlets, you need a DC converter.

Radio Shack has a 12 volt 1 amp DC converter (Radio Shack part# 273-1776) and an "M" adapter plug, which will let you plug the heated hose into American electrical outlets. The converter with "M" adapter is about $20 at Radio Shack.

There's a tiny plug on the end of the heated hose wire. Plug the heated hose into the tiny "M" adapter, plug the tiny "M" adapter into the tiny plug on the DC converter, and plug the converter into your wall electrical outlet just like you'd plug in a lamp. All the connections are simple steps involving plugs. No "loose wires" to be wired together at all.

Are you sure it's the "sz1" & not the "sz2". I've checked out their web-site(thanks) & the "sz1" is priced in Aussie dollars. The "sz2" sounds like it's for the USA market?
