Same Mask But More Issues

Post by jrfoster » Sat Sep 08, 2007 7:44 am

I just purchased a second profile lite gel mask to have as a back up.
My first profile lite has been giving me decent AHI's (for the most part) and an average leak rate of about 34LPM.

The new mask, same size, shoots my AHI's up and the average leak rate is at 40 or 41 LPM. This must be a defect in the production of the mask because I thought the same mask and the same size should act the same way? Anyone else found this problem when ordering another mask of the same kind?

Jeff, correct me if I am wrong because I have not owned the Profile Lite. I looked at it and thought I would like to try it but never got around to it. If my memory serves me it is one of those masks that you are suposed to boiled (heated) and molded to your face. If you have not done this it would explain why the fit is different. Might look at the instructions that came with it for the procedure.

I did in fact boil and fit it to my face after a few nights of wear, and it did NO good. Still too much leakage and higher AHIs! Go figure.
