About AHI

Post by vdol52 » Fri Aug 31, 2007 4:13 pm

What would be an acceptable spread between the Lowest and Highest setting on CPAP?
I read earlier that if our AHI is under 3 we should raise the lowest setting 1cm each day until our AHI is under 3. Should we also raise the highest setting 1cm?
So is under a an acceptable AHI?

I know I have read that some of you have gotten your range pretty close.
I'm also wondering how much allergies, and colds affect the settings. Is it necessary to reset the machine if we're feeling stuffy?

Yikes!

Am guessing you mean Auto (& not CPAP)

If I had an AHI of 3 (esp if it was 0.5 AI & 2.5 HI) I would be very happy

If the 3.0 is predominantly AI data (obstructions) then raising the higher Auto CMS setting by 1 or so may help.

I would usually not set the lower CMS setting to more than 3 CMS below my titration CMS. Also, Would usually not set the upper to more than 1 over titration (well, maybe to 2 after a dinner party ) but if as discussed, the AI data was around the 2.5+ mark, I may raise the upper CMS another 1 point & see what results that produces.

Good luck
