Encore Pro data storage

Post by Newsgrouper » Wed May 04, 2005 7:12 am

I understand that the smart card only holds about a week's worth of data but can I assume that the Encore Pro software will hold the downloaded data indefinately?

I believe the card holds 6 months of data.

I currently have over two months of data on mine....

When the information is downloaded from the card into Encore Pro, the file will remain there until you delete it.

Regards.

Newsgrouper, if you're talking about detailed data (the juicy nightly details chart/graph), then yes, it will save only 5 days to a week, depending on how many hours you're sleeping.

The more general info is still there months later, as Hugh Jass said.

If you simply save the file you downloaded every few days (I "save as" = "Export PDF" with a new file name each time) you'll be able to keep continuous detailed records in your computer.

Data

Restedgal is right. But each time you download your data it is saved in your PC's Encore database and a log of the download shows in the event log in the lower left of the screen. You can right-click on any download event to look at the detail data for that date and the 7 days before.

Additional info: just got a new card from my DME with instructions to mail the old one in for complience verification. Loading last night's data this morning, I realized that this download has no info about prior nights and so even my averages and running totals are not carried over. Too bad, it would be nice to have the running average totaled from all the detailed data stored in the PC instead of just what's in the card.

I download my card every morning. The results are stored in your computer. To review past nites just right click your name, then click patients file. You will see all the nites listed. I usually leave about a months worth before deleting some of the oldest dates. Or i may print or save a nite if it looks interesting. But I only do this for page four, since it has all the good data.

Although I download every other day to view detailed reports relating to the past 2-3 nights, without erasing data stored on the card I now wipe the card weekly and retain only final detailed report (as a PDF) that relates to the week that has just ended. Consequently instead of having numerous repetitive reports I have detailed reports of each of the past weeks and 2-3 detailed reports, that will be deleted at the end of the current week.
