Hi, guys. I am new here and to sleep apnea. I had my second sleep test yesterday, and have not received my mask and machine yet.
Your board is very helpful to me as a totally clueless person on this subject.
Please tell me what the word AEROPHAGIA means.
Thanx.
New Here. Translation?
It's when you swallow the air, it goes into your guts. It's can be painful, sometimes it caused from damage done by acid reflux. Jim

A clarification on aerophagia:
It doesn't have to be swallowing air. It often means that your stomach just inflates because the sphincter that is supposed to keep it closed doesn't for whatever reason. That means you get extra gas and sometimes painful bloating.
Now don't fret. CPAP isn't THAT scary. Just take it as it comes, and ask questions when you have them.
