Migraines

Anyone had problems with migraines since diagnosed with OSA?

I have always had headaches but they have gotten worse and now are classified as migraines

Its really something when you go to sleep to try to get rid of a headache and wake up with the same throbbing pain!

You asked if anyone has had trouble with migraines sincebeing diagnosed with OSA. I have had headaches since the age of 8 but didn't have them diagnosed as migraine until into my late thirties.

Fortunatly, OSA has not made them worse. What did make them worse was about the 10-12 years premenopause. The hormone changes were wicked and that is when I had almost constant migraines.

For migraines I now use ice packs on the neck and forehead. I cannot lay down on a pillow as that makes the pain worse, but sometimes I can lay perfectly flat on a bed without the pain increasing. I also sit at the sink and use alternating hot/cold wachclothes on my face. The best and newest trick is to sit in the most comfortable chair I can fit next to the edge of the bathtub while filling the tub with the hottest water I can stand to put my feet in. I soak my feet in this water, adding more hot water as it cools for about a half hour. I like to play new agey relaxing music while I am soaking, too as well as try to concentrate on slow deep breathing. The theory is that the heat draws the blood from the vessels in the head down to the feet, thus relieving the migraine pain.

I hope some of these suggestions help you. Feel free to PM me if you'd like.
