Great night....also- an end to sleep walking?

Post by khallow » Fri Aug 17, 2007 8:30 am

Hi all! I got my pur sleep yesterday and almost fell down from the smell when I opened the package (one bottle had leaked). So, I was skeptical that I would sleep better with it. But I used it last night (spice) and I had my best night with the CPAP since I got it last month. I don't smell plastic but I do smell my shampoo/cleaner each night. I slept very well and kept my mask on all night! Wow... hopefully not a fluke!

Also, we were talking at dinner last night and it occured to my husband and I that I have not slept walked or gotten out of bed unawares since I started CPAP. This is amazing since I was sleep walking every night sometimes up to 3x a night. Perhaps it was the apnea getting me out of bed? Or maybe my mind just knows I am tethered and I need to stay in bed. Anyway the cessation of the sleep walking has really improve things as well I beleive. I am excited!

Hope you all are well,
Karen

Just curtailing your sleep walking is worth wearing the mask right?

Hi Karen. Sorry about the leaky bottle! I thought we had solved that problem but I guess not. Part of the problem relates to the bottle supplier. I've changed to a different supplier who makes a slightly different bottle that appears to be better quality etc.

I'm glad to hear you like Spice. It's one of my absolute favorites.

sleep walking usually runs in families, can be caused by severe fatigue or sleep deprivation.

If you are sleeping better on cpap that could explain why you are not having them. I used to sleep walk as a kid, my daughters did also. I woke up freezing one night no blankets or sheets on the bed, found all my blankets and sheets on top of the toilet in the bathroom.

One time I woke up about midnight, my mom was out working in the back yard in the flower bed, I said hi mom and walked right past her in my underwear, opened the back gate and started walking down the alley towards town, she ran after me, I was completely asleep. In that dream I knew full well what I was doing, when she woke me up I walked back inside and went back to sleep.

yep, my mom who's now 90 in a few weeks, used to do that all the time, we had one of those large dusk to dawn lights on a power pole out back, she could see just fine.
