Brings back very fond memories for me

Post by meister » Mon May 02, 2005 2:20 pm

of all those times I spent in tents full of young women on camping
trips ... Women!! Can't live with them! Can't live without them!

You guys sound like you are ready for a nice Dental Device to jut your
jaw forward and stop all that snoring and airway closure. Then you could
be more ladylike. Hopefully in the bathroom, ladies don't pass gas!!

rested gal, Good picture for illustration. Is it true the Swift has a new type of pillows that are shorter and softer...thus easier on tender tissues?
How long did it take your nose to get over the soreness when you first begin wearing pillows?

Photogal, I guess it's unladylike to admit this (tough skin, maybe!!?? ) but I never had any nasal tenderness from any nasal pillows interface - Breeze, Swift, or Aura. I wasn't able to endure the noise of the Nasal Aire II for long enough to find out if that one would have felt ok or not.

When people do experience some nasal tenderness, they seem to report that a bit of Ayr gel or KY jelly (I think snork1 uses castorbean oil and swears by it) takes care of the friction/pressure and makes the nasal pillows easier on the nostrils right from the get-go.

I'd rate the Aura as having by far the softest, smushiest feeling pillows of all and softest assembly at the nose to hold the pillows in place. The Breeze pillows are next softest, imho, as long as one gets pillows that most DMEs would say, "Oh, those would be too big for you!" Breeze pillows need to be big, in my opinion, so that they keep the shell a bit farther from the nostrils. Bigger than you'd think you'd need...I wear the Large in Breeze pillows even though I have small nares. They seal better, too, if a bit largish. The Swift's pillows seemed the firmest to me.

However, the plastic shell that holds the Breeze's soft pillows can be a problem for some people who report it presses on their upper lip or against the front of the snout too much. It never touched my upper lip, luckily. Tomjax has posted about carefully bending the metal spine of the Breeze to change the angle.

The Swift can feel comfortable enough, even though it has the firmest feeling pillows of those particular 3 masks.

All things considered -- straight out of the box with no fitting tweaks at all other than deciding which size pillows cylinder sealed best, I'd say the Swift would be easiest to use, Breeze almost equally so, and Aura (the most comfortable of all at the snout, imho) needing the most tweaks to fit many women's heads.

I don't mind tweaking things to absolute custom comfort. Aura and Breeze are my favorites.
