Lip Training

Post by momadams » Wed Aug 15, 2007 10:48 am

Have been using a silicone "wax" shield between teeth and lips for a few months, Poligrip strips for 2 months.

Started having problems with lips swelling and peeling (I play flute and piccolo, so slight lip changes freak me out), so I ditched both the wax and the Poligrip to see what would happen.

Apparently, I've trained my lips! No leak problems this week...
And I can talk to DH whenever I want to...

Shari

That is great that you have allot less hassle to deal with at night. Glad I took to the switch really easily myself after a lifetime of mouth breathing.

I totally have same issues I play Clarinet, Alto, Tenor, Bari Sax, Oboe, and Bassoon (though not sure I currently have the lung capacity to play all of those anymore.) And healthy lips are essential...
