Help Change in Insurance

Post by JimH » Wed Apr 27, 2005 8:58 pm

Does anyone have Horizon Blue Cross for insurance? If so, which suppliers are covered by Horizon. The supplier I got my Remstar Plus from (Sleep Central) is not associated with Horizon. I wanted to order a chin strap( even sleeping I can't keep my mouth shut!! ahahhah) and some new ultra fine filters. Couldn't get a live person tonight on the 1-800 I can't help you now number.

Thanks for your help.

Hi Jim,

You could call your sleep lab where you had your test and ask who does the dme that will work with PBC.

You may get very tired of hunting someone down, and want to look at cpap.com.

We have chinstraps for less than $15.00 and a pack of 6 filters for the Remstar is $14.00. Give us a call at 800-356-5221 if you cannot find a provider. We sell a great Sullivan Chinstrap that is both comfortable and durable.

Regards,

I have BCBS and between them and my employer and APRIA i'm about to snap!!!!!!!!!!!
Right after i had my first sleep study the company i worked for changed to BCBS and it has been a TRAIN WRECK TO THIS VERY DAY INCLUDING THE CRAZY BILL I RECEIVED TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!I have told all three the very same thing.

long story short in Indiana BCBS doesn't have ten month rent to own, everybody told me they did until the bills kept coming and i started screaming!!! this is when we found out that just because our CO. is based out of St.louis and have BCBS of MO. our location is in Indiana so we play by BCBS of IN. rules which does not have rent to own on our plan. So they tell me now after i have had the bipap for a little over a year that i'll have to pay them 50.00 a month plus the 250.00 deductible FOREVER!!!!!!instead of the initial 10 month rto that i was told to begin with.

Notbigenuf,

What do you mean you have to pay monthly rent to own. i have had mine since December and I haven't paid a cent. I had Cigna up until 12/31. Never got a bill. I figured atleast a copay. But nothing.... Not complaining here. I knwo when my Dad passed away, the insurance company went bonkers over getting the machine back. i don't know if they ever did.

But i have noticed that BC will do anything else but to pay especially if there is possibly someone else to charge first. God forbid you get hurt at someone's house from your own stupidity. They will make you claim against the homeowners insurance. At the end of the day, your friends/family won't have you over. You are an insurance risk!!

They have it where the first 10 months you pay 50.00 a month for 10 months + deductible after that i was supposed to own it!! but after the 10 months went by and the bills kept coming did i find out that IN. BCBS is separate and they want you to rent it forever + my yearly deductible!!!

I can't believe they want you to rent it forever.. what a money making scheme. I am in the wrong business.... Honestly, I haven't had to pay a cent and I am not sure how much it would cost to buy outright. Why the heck dow we pay insurance for anyway? Its all a conspiracy.

Sorry for my rant for the day.
