After asking my PCP over a year for a referral for a sleep doctor (and finally having to just insist on it)....I finally got an appointment......my sleep studies were a month later.

They (St. Marys Hospital in Knoxville, TN) let you call 2 days later for a quick overview of your results.....on the phone I mentioned that I really was looking forward to having my c-pap.....a week later I had it!!!

The only thing I didn't get, was a copy of my results from sleep doctor.

My follow up was a month after getting my c-pap. And I have another follow up in 2 months.

good luck to you.....

I guess i was lucky, once my doctor figured sleep meds didn't help she sent me for a sleep study. Heck i think it was only a week or 2 i waited, since they could not get it corrected the first night they went ahead and scripted me a cpap with low pressure until my next study and it was only 3 weeks after my first!!After my second study they scripted me a bipap which i think i received like the next day, and it looks like a nice RESPIRONICS auto trak sensitivity i guess it has some timed back up or something like that.

No, Janelle, I have to wait 2 more months before having my surgery. BC/BS will not approve until I have gone to GP for 6 months to check weight, bp, etc. I have tried to bribe them (lol) but they won't go ahead and ok me.

I got a call Friday from ny nurologist (who also did my sleep study). He has prescribed splints for both hands to wear at night because of carpal tunnel and nerve problems related to my diabetes. What next, diapers???

Think I will put off trying to find me a fellow (lmfao). If this surgery works, I am going to be looking again.

Becky, looking for love, but got to wait a while
I just had my first night of sleep study. My questions is, when I have the gastric bypass surgery and lose weight, will I still have to wear this equipment? I have not received all results, but oxygen level did go down to 76. That they did not like.
