Puritan Bennett Travel Bag

Post by wcampion » Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:51 am

I have been using a PB 420G for about a year now. I use this one for weekly travel and I keep my Respironics REMStar Pro on my night stand at home. Previously, when I traveled with the REMStar, I liked the carrying bag which included room for the heated humidifier and space for the hose and mask. I now have the PB420G with the new H2O humidifier. I am now wondering if PB will make a bag simular to the Respironics bag. Does anyone know if PB is thinking about this or if there is a bag available?

Thanks,
The Road Warrior

420 Bag

Hello,

Yes they do make a larger bag for the cpap and new H2O. They just don't sell the new bag with the humidifier. However, you can buy a new style bag seperately at Cpap.com, and it will hold both the cpap and H2O. Give customer service a call. We have them in stock and have sold to many others who are in your same position.

PB Bag

Post by glassgal » Thu Apr 21, 2005 10:52 pm

Hi,

I have the new bag, and it has a major omission, IMHO.

It really needs to have a strap with velcro that can be used to slip over the handle of your rolling luggage or carryon.

Most of us get the PB line because we travel and it is small and light, and the bag is important when travelling. I didn't much care for the ResMed S7 Lightweight (NOT! ) machine, but I did like their bag -- it was well organized, protected the machine well, had plenty of room for hoses and other stuff and had a strap to slip over your luggage handle. The PB bag is not nearly as well thought out. It almost seems like an afterthought. The strap is cheap and the velcro compartment should have a zipper. It just isn't well made. If I spend almost $900.00 on an APAP, software, humidifier, etc. -- it needs to be protected with a quality bag!

Can you folks at CPAP.com get the message to them? I'm sorry to give a bad review ICP, but that is my honest opinion!

Wcampion, I am considering getting a really good digital camera bag -- one that can carry lots of lenses and things -- with movable partitions for my PB420e -- my son has one that is just a little too small, but I haven't found just what I want yet.

Sleep well,

Jane

Hi Glassgal,

I am still envious that you went to Hawaii.

Check out the luggage that we just started carrying. You strap your cpap into it and you open a couple of zipper compartments and you are set up without taking it out or having to put it away. There is a ton of room in there to keep a power strip, hoses, masks, perhaps a small bottle of distilled water...

Here is the link.

PS I have looked high and low and could not find one of these since I saw something similar at an AWAKE meeting.

Hi Ted,

Thanks for the link. Do you have a pic of the bag closed? How about dimensions and weight?

Hawaii was fun. When my sister and I got back my Dad went over for 6 weeks -- they just got back last week. It is very restful and nice. I did experience rainout there, though and turned down the humidifier.

Hi Glassgal,

We are working on getting better pictures, and I will pass on the suggestion about the unit being closed.
