My encore pro results, comments, suggestions please!

Post by Janine » Tue Jun 05, 2007 5:31 pm

I have been on cpap since the beginning of April, and last week got my own machine and mask. As a surprise, my husband got me the encore pro 1.8. I want to thank all the people here who have made this life transition so much easier!!!

I put the report on a web page and would really appreciate any thoughts. I am feeling better, but not great.

And I can't figure out how to get the program to give me a cumulative report - this one is 3 weeks in May but I can't get it to add more recent into one report.

It looks like your leaks are out of control. You've got to get the leaks fixed before this treatment will work.

looks pretty good to me, your AHI is well under 5.

Your 90% pressure is 8cm, you have your minimum set to 7cm. You may be able to improve by bumping the Min to 8cm, but you have to weigh that change against comfort and using the machine.

Higher pressure (even 1cm) can mean increased noise from the machine and mask, more difficulty stopping leaks etc., etc.

You actually look pretty good. Base how you feel over any numbers.

someday science will catch up to what I'm saying...

Thank you both. I was thinking about bumping it to 8. I find the machine and mask pretty quiet, but I sleep in a room with 4 creatures that snore, so a little white noise is welcome.

I am very glad I followed the advice here and got an auto (no sleep study available, pressure was set based on oximetry). Otherwise I would be sitting at 6 and being miserable!

Leaks are something I am wondering about. That data was using a series 2, and I now have a Quattro. I need to learn more about leaks and find the rate for the Quattro. Last night it was average 37.7, with a large leak for 6 minutes or 1.2% of the night.
