Help. Advice needed
Greetings Lee,
Make sure to get a good fit with your mask. In other words, if they pull a mask out and just hand it to you sealed in a bag, make them set up the headgear and check the fit. It will make a huge difference. A Resmed Activa mask is very popular, and not a bad place to start.
Respironics has a feature called Cflex that give a pressure drop on exhalation to make your breathing more natural and the experience more pleasant. That would be a good feature to have on a first cpap.

PS. I use the Breeze Sleepgear with Nasal Pillows.. also a great mask.

There are many machines to choose from. Some DME's deal with only one supplier, for example: Respironics or Resmed. Having tried virtually every machine out there I can say that your mask is number one priority. You may have to go through a dozen masks to find one that fits and works for you. By masks, I also mean nasal pillows.
What you may need to know is that you may be stuck with buying the mask even though you choose not to get the machine. If possible, find a DME that lets you try several masks without hving to buy it first.
Once you get a comfortable mask, then you need to choose the machine you want and need. After that, come back and post here and let us know how you are doing.
