Wistful....I have only been at this since december.... the first night or two I really freaked out I had so much air in my stomach...ended up laying on the carpet on my stomach for an hour or two trying to get some relief which I eventually did with it coming out both ends.
I tried a wedge pillow with no success...and two pillows under my head..nothing. The only thing that works is sleeping on my back which I hate to do because my AHI doubles. I have learned that sleeping on the right side is better than the left side...have no idea why. I have also found that most of the air I take in is in the first 2 hours....after that it doesn't seem to be as much of an issue or maybe I am too tired or in too deep a sleep to care. As some have said, it gets better with time. I don't know if you just get used to it. I just sit on the edge of the bed for a few minutes and try and unload as much air as I can and then lay back down. By morning time I am pretty full but I find in the first hour I mostly have the air out. It's something you just sort of learn to live with.....we have an amazing ability as humans to adapt to what is uncomfortable or inconvenient. How else could we put one of these masks on and sleep all night.
