I can imagine a patient in a sleep lab is struggling to breathe, his blood pressure is soaring and his heart beat is raging. The sleep technician thinks to himself, "This guy could have a stroke or heart attack at any minute, or I can hook this patient up to the xpap machine beside the bed and he will breathe normally, his blood pressure will fall and his heart rate will become normal. No, wait, the insurance company insists I let him lay there suffering for at least two hours."

I am glad BCBSNC understands this. Time for IL to get on board.

Good morning,

Well, I made it throught the night. Was a little restless throughout the night, I certainly remember waking up a dozen or so times. However, I dont think that when I was awake, I was awake for long.

I didn't go bed until 3am, my norm is 2am and I was watching a movie and really wasn't all that tired at 2, so I finished the movie. Took a little while to get used to it, but I think I drifted off quickly. The wife woke me up as per my request around 8:30 am. I could have slept until 11am Im sure, but I gots to get my lovin, sleep or no sleep.

I feel pretty good. Feel much more rested than usual, probably would feel much better if Id have slept later. I used the activa mask and definately noticed that I could breath much easier if I had the mask lower on my face, the lower cushion which is squished and hangs below the seal, actually over my top lip. This seems to center my nose in the mask and I notice it's much easier to exhale and get a full inhale. Maybe Im just hallucinating.

I did go ahead and use a couple of sprays of the Breathe Right Snore Relief, don't know if that helped or hurt. Id be interested to know if any of you combine the spray with your xPAP therapy.

Don't think Ill need a nap today, but I think Im going to try to start getting to bed by 1am as a regular time. Might take a while but I think I can adjust myself to getting to sleep earlier.

Thanks again.
