Can Someone Interpret My Sleep Summary

Post by Newsgrouper » Fri Apr 01, 2005 9:56 pm

Sleep Summary
Stage 1 Sleep: 12.1% of TST
Stage 2 Sleep: 69% of TST
Stage 3 Sleep: 3.2% of TST
Stage 4 Sleep: 0% of TST
REM Sleep: 15.8% of TST

What does this all mean? Am I getting any of the "good" sleep?

Sorry Newsgrouper, means nothing to me, but at least this gets it to the top of the list again. Can any of our specialists help?

I know that I never got into Stage 4 or Rem because of apnea.

You can read about sleep stages at

The levels of sleep are important as well as the times spent at each level. It appears from your test that you never which I believe is also referred to as Slow Wave Sleep. This is considered the restorative sleep stage. From your numbers, it appears that you never entered that stage. The more important numbers are the the AHI/RDI. This is used to determine the severity of OSA.
