Runny Nose

Post by Hurricane » Sat Feb 17, 2007 7:11 am

Cpap treatment going okay numbers good, feeling ok, with the exception of annoying runny nose when awakening in the morning, have to use Flonaise, and a bromide spray to stop this annoyance, I use saline sprays to cleanse nose, I am wondering about the humidity or lack of it on my cpap unit, do any of you feel better with more or less humidity? I usually have it set on two setting, tried several settings still need my box of kleenex trailing along me the first couple hours, never had this problem till cpap. We keep our room 64 degrees at night, no rainout in hose, usually use about a cup of water, any answers out there, besides a bigger box of kleenex?

I keep my HH on 3. Any lower and my nose starts running when I get up. Any higher and my nose starts running when I get up. I would try bumping it up 1 and see how it goes. If that doesn't help try going down 1. Give it a couple of nights after a change.

I have this same problem when I use my Swift Nasal Pillow gear but not when I use my full face mask. I think that it's the air blowing directly up the nose that causes my problem.

WWVA, seems others using the Swift have also had this problem, I'm still working on getting leaks out of the cheek area on my ULTRA FF mask, one thing nice about the Swift is its simplicity.
