Does anybody else find that the pressure that they use during the rest of the month isn't enough to keep them asleep either just before their period or during it?

I'm past that stage. However, have you given any consideration to fluid buildup?? Many of us tend to retain fluid during that time of the month and there have been some reports about fluid around the throat, etc. affecting apnea in the news briefs recently.

I'm too new of a CPAP user to notice a pattern yet but what I have noticed is that for the first time in my life since I've had this Apnea, it seems to make my periods irregular. That was the ONE thing in life I could set my clock to...
According to some Internet literature, it can have that affect on 40% of women.
(Had the hormones checked, too. It's not that.)

The effect of menstrual cycle on cpap pressure is an interesting observation. Could this be yet another argument for APAP (at least for pre-menopause women).

I would encourage women who are experiencing this to mention it to their docs, so it gets on the radar screen of the sleep medicine profession. Maybe someone will do a study on it someday.

I'm female, 32 years old, all my bits are in still functioning working order.. been papping for almost 8 months now. Can't say I've noticed any sort of pattern between pressure/sleep/lack of sleep during that time of the month.

I totally noticed last night! I have really bad PMS anyway, so everything gets out of wack, but I tossed and turned and fussed all night, I have a big zit and a headache today, plus I lost my temper with my daughter at breakfast. I figure my period will start tonight or tomorrow.
