Off Topic Post - APCM (Advanced Primary Care Management) ?

Post by Grumpy48 » Wed Nov 04, 2026 1:24 pm

Recently got a message from a healthcare representative affiliated with my primary care provider that asked if I would be interested in 'additional' services from my primary care provider through the program APCM.

https://www.medicare.gov/coverage/advan ... t-services

I really don't know if this would benefit me or not and I'm of the belief most of what the program appears to offer I sort of already have through my primary care provider (exception is 24/7 availability). It does benefit the primary care office as it is an additional source of revenue for them. Most all that I find online about APCM is discussion of the program by providers and not from a patient point of view. I'm presuming my Medicare supplemental insurance would pick up the portion Medicare doesn't cover. While it may not cost me anything, I'm not really sold on whether this would be of a benefit to me or not.

Does anyone here participate in the APCM program with their primary care and if so, has it been beneficial to you?

They might drive you crazy calling you frequently to "help" you.

Annoying as hell.

Does it cost anything to participate and if you enrolled can you cancel at anytime because you found the "help" more annoying than helpful?

My Humana Medicare Advantage plan offers something similar but doesn't cost me anything and the phone calls and "help" were so frequent I have ended up blocking every Humana phone number.
I may have to RISE but I refuse to SHINE.
