SoClean 3

Post by robert-tim » Thu Sep 03, 2026 10:41 pm

I've been led to understand that ozone cleaning is harmful to CPAP equipment and its use should be avoided. Recently, on TV, a device called the SoClean 3 was advertised. William Shatner did not appear in this commercial, unlike earlier SoClean offerings that were known to use ozone for cleaning. The current model is rather expensive and probably uses ozone cleaning as well. Does anyone here know anything about it? Are its characteristics different from previous models in a way that would now allow it to be recommended? And I wonder why it's so much more expensive?

A simple online search has your answer.

I asked, does soclean 3 use ozone?

Yes, the SoClean 3 and 3+ devices use ozone gas as part of their cleaning and bacterial reduction process. SoClean 3+ generates an Ozone Stream for bacterial reduction within a closed system. At the end of a cycle, the Ozone passes through a conversion system, called the Filter, that actively accelerates the transformation of ozone (O3) into breathable oxygen (O2), as noted by SoClean.

The Resmed Limited Warranty specifically excludes damage caused by O₃ (Ozone).

What are you trying to clean?
