I’m just curious…I have 5 nights down with my new CPAP. The first three nights, it showed no leaks but that two do show a bit of leakage. And both those mornings I woke up to dry skin in an area just below by mask.( I am moisturizing well before bed and in the morning with a water based product.)
So I guess I’m wondering if this is normal to have an increase in leaks once masks get worn in? What do you do to manage leaks? Tightening straps seems logical but I’ve read that it may not be the case?
Also, any tips on skincare to avoid these dry patches? I am on top of cleaning daily as soon as mask comes off.

Small leaks are not a problem unless they disturb your sleep. Normally you will hear mask leaks when the unit is running...those can be adjusted by moving or tightening the straps. Mouth breathing will show up as leaks. Moisturizing could possibly cause air to leak under the cushion. Dry skin will improve the seal. Personally, I find that my masks seal better after they are used for a period of time. I avoid changing masks unless I get leaks that I can't stop. My mask cushions last at least 4-6 months.
