Brevida Bozo

Post by sleepshmeep » Wed May 27, 2026 1:29 pm

I've been using the Swift FX for 13 years, love it, but recently thought I should expand my horizons. After watching Lanky Lefty, I decided to try the Brevida. It arrived the other day and within 5 minutes I had somehow separated the two blue hard plastic rings that seem to connect the silicone seal of the "M" cushion to the mask frame. I have tried for an absurdly long time to put the cushion back together but nothing snaps and it all just falls apart. I've watched videos and studied the other cushion that came with it. I had high hopes for this mask but now I just want to send it all back. I'm wondering if a tiny part snapped off and disappeared. These things are supposed to be washed daily and are made to endure lots of manhandling. Any ideas on what I may have done wrong? Have any other Brevida users had this happen? Thanks for any insights you can provide!

I am sorry but my experience with the Brevida was years ago and I no longer have it to play with to see if I can duplicate your problem
BUT
I wanted to mention a couple of other masks that you might like.

The ResMed AirFit P10 which was released after the Swift FX and is a sweet little mask. Pretty much an improved Swift FX

and the F & P Nova Micro and its nasal pillows are about half the size of the P10

The P10 has silent venting and the Nova has a tiny footprint on the face.

Thank you Pugsy! Unfortunately I don't think either of those masks would work for me because I use a hose lift gizmo so I don't have to worry about dragging the hose with me (I turn a lot). What I like about the Swift FX is that it has that "ball joint" connection that allows the hose to swivel. If you can think of any other masks that have this, I'm all ears!

Just about all masks swivel in some way. If they don't swivel where the tubing comes into the mask, they have a swivel connector where the mask tubing connects to the hose from the CPAP. My AirFit N30 (not currently using) has no swivel at the mask (like the P10), but it does swivel where it connects to the CPAP hose. I also use one of those hose holder thingies (I move a lot while sleeping as well), and have no problems with masks that don't have a swivel at the mask itself.

I'm happy to do a quick Zoom meeting with you to try to get it figured out. Just email me at my business address and remind me of this post. The address is support "at" axgsleepdiagnostics dot com. (just in case filters are on)

edit: If you're just done with the Brevida because you can't stand the sight of it anymore, Pugsy is right that the Nova Micro is an excellent choice. Brevida is quieter (I think quietest available), but the "nipples" will invert sometimes. Rare, but can and does happen.

Thanks RogerSC, I appreciate your response. I will take this under advisement but I'm still a tad skeptical about getting the full flexibility that I can get with a mask that has a ball joint at the frame, like the Swift FX. I will likely give the Micro a try - especially if I can't get this Brevida mask back together.

Lanky Lefty, THANK YOU!
I've followed you for a while and that's why I thought I'd try the Brevida. I was so disappointed when it fell apart so quickly. YES I'd love a quick Zoom to see if you can help me put it back together. I'll send my request shortly.
