Paralyzed Vocal Cord

Post by eoram » Tue Apr 21, 2026 4:21 pm

I have one paralyzed vocal cord from cancer surgery. It causes me some shortness of breath when I talk and exert- I have to be careful eating and drinking because my airway is partially open all the time. I have been suffering from extreme exhaustion and been diagnosed with sleep apnea. I am wondering if my paralyzed cord will cause complications with CPAP.

I know this is a pretty rare condition, but I'm hoping maybe someone out there in CPAP-land might have experience with this as well.

Many thanks!
