Hello
I have a possible palatal prolapse with my soft palate blocking the exhale in my nose. I wondered if barbed reposition pharyngoplasty would help me with my palatal prolapse?
Has anyone undergone this surgery and did it help you? Thanks

IMO, far from a good treatment in this one study.Therapeutic success was achieved in 22 patients out of 47.
Therapeutic success was defined according to Sher’s criteria: achievement of a postoperative value of AHI < 20 and a 50% improvement in the preoperative AHI value.

This retrospective study showed that the BRP technique according to Mantovani was more effective, in the short term, compared to the classic UPPP technique of Fairbanks for patients with OSAHS. The combined use of HS showed greater benefits in UPPP compared to BRP. Randomized prospective trials with longer follow-up are necessary to confirm our results and formulate a more accurate indication of the optimal therapeutic strategy.

Sorry for the late reply. I still need surgery for my redundant palate which was diagnosed by my ENT a while ago. I have my Oscar data from last night but dont know how to understand it. Do i upload the whole nights worth? I am specifically looking for any palatal prolapse moments and anything else thats an issue. I asked Vik Veers on youtube about palatal prolapse ..he said anterior palatoplasty would work but i said my soft palate was drooping severley so he said another surgery would be needed on top but he did not say what. he said i need to see him for a consultation. Thanks

Get a free account at SleepHQ.com. Upload your SD card (30-day option). You will get a link with your personal info redacted. Post that link into this thread. Members will be able to see an analysis that allows zooming down to the individual breath. They can help you understand.cpaper9000 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 02, 2026 10:37 amI have my Oscar data from last night but dont know how to understand it. Do i upload the whole nights worth?
For a newbie, this is so much easier than OSCAR.
