Does anybody here know what material the stretchy, velcro part of headgear is made from? The headgear that I prefer is no longer made. I have used most of my stash and now the stretchy part is stretched too far. I have a seamstress friend who will attach new straps, but I don't know what to look for.
Thank you.

Re: What material is headgear made from?
I'm not sure how someone is to know what material your headgear is made of without you telling us exactly what headgear you have, brand/model. We can't see your headgear nor can we read your mind.

The OP's mask is identified in his forum signature... just like yours is.
It's also still available for purchase online from a variety of merchants.

Re: What material is headgear made from?
I'm sorry to be unclear. I didn't think about the gear listed in my signature. At some point, I switched to the Respironics Softcap head gear, part number 302215. The headgear is pictured on this site:

They stopped making this part a few years ago and I've almost used up what I had stashed. I'm assuming that the "stretchy velcro material" is the same in all or most masks, and I'd really like to purchase this material. The stretchy part of my masks are all 'stretched-out' now. I have friend who is a seamstress. She will re-make my masks using the new material if I can source it. I've looked locally and have searched Google, but I don't know what this material is called.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thank you

Re: What material is headgear made from?
With respect, your assumption is incorrect. (A common characteristic of assumptions in general, it seems.)
The SoftCap was designed and marketed as "alternative" headgear, and made from a thin lycra/spandex-like elastane fiber material as shown in your pic.
More "traditional" CPAP headgear is typically manufactured from various combinations of open cell polyurethane foam for the main straps and nylon hook-and-loop (velcro) fasteners, sometimes sewn to spandex material.
I'm not aware of, nor have I seen, anything resembling standardization of these materials in the CPAP industry. I also haven't ever seen any headgear setup from any manufacturer that was entirely made from just one material.
