CPAP under-recording sleep

Post by Marci » Tue Dec 16, 2025 4:06 am

I have a Resmed AirSense 10 Autoset. I have been using CPAP successfully for over 10 years. In recent months the machine appears to be under-recording the length of time I sleep. Typically, when I have had the mask on/have slept for 6 - 7 hours, it records 2 - 5 hours. The machine display shows a smiley face for mask seal and humidifier. I contacted the supplier, Baywater (UK), who said that the mask must be coming off. I am quite certain that that is not the case.

I had never looked closely at the recorded data before, but this occurrence prompted me to read the SD card with OSCAR for the first time. What I saw is that there were repeated periods throughout the night of missing data on all graphs. Image attached.

Any advice grantefully received.

Are you aware that CPAP counts from noon to noon? If you sleep past noon, those hours will be added to the next day ie. You could sleep from 6AM to 2PM and the machine will record 6 hours used. The extra 2 hours will be added to the next day. You say thet the machine says that you slept from 2-5 hours...machines don't do that . They record a specific number of hours used...not a range.
