Newbe question

Post by Pitroad » Fri Oct 03, 2025 3:19 pm

I've only been diagnosed with severe sleep apnea in the last month or 2. Started using CPAC equipment in September. Just began the process of utilizing a SD card to submit my ResMed AirSense 11 data to a open source program OSCAR. I have just stumbled across the debacle between Oscar and SleepHQ and perhaps CPACTalk and Apnea Board. This seems to have been an ongoing thing for quite a while. What am I missing, I just want to feel better and not get into a who's best war. Would appreciate any advice on direction from non-biased members as to what direction I should go in interpreting my sleep data.

I'm here often and have never seen this. We're here to help.

As far as choice of OSCAR and SleepHQ, here are some comments I just made a few minutes ago.
To help you, data is needed. It's easy to get. ---->

1. Create a free account at SleepHQ.com
2. Import the data from your machine's SD card to SleepHQ.com
3. Post the link in this thread
4. Any personally identifying data in the link is redacted by SleepHQ.
Personally, I use SleepHQ and keep my copy of OSCAR updated in case SleepHQ decides to no longer offer a free account.

I recommend SleepHQ for this forum because -

1. It's so easy to use.
2. The charts do not require any formatting.
3. A link can be posted here without the trouble of hosting a screenshot.
4. All personally identifying information is redacted from the link.
5. And importantly, helping members can zoom in on a user's charts.

All those points are missing with OSCAR. I have a great appreciation for OSCAR. But I am also practical.
That's the first time I felt the need to speak about the relative advantages of the two analysis tools. I think if some type of useless "war" tries to get started here, the admins will squelch it.

Welcome!
