What do we all think of this machine filter door modification?
It looks like a really neat solution, but is there a problem to solve? ResMed do supply a hypoallergenic filter, but would that be as effective as this HEPA?
The manufacturer does point out that it is not FDA approved, nor endorsed by ResMed.

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
I use an adapter on my Resmed 10 machines that lets you use 2097 Bayonet Filters. These are respirator filters, the most common one being P100 particle filters. They are very inexpensive and have a huge filter area. They are ugly, but very effective. The standard Resmed filters aren't great, and most DME's supply knock off's that aren't even as good. The regular filter housing leaks air around the filter as well. I switched to the P100 adapter when I got a new machine and opened up my old one to clean it out. A lot gets past the standard filter.
The CSpring is a lot more attractive and I'm guessing works well. But it's a special filter you have to get from them. There are several inexpensive choices for S10 and S11 adapters on Amazon, and the 2097 filters are readably available at Home Depot, Amazon etc. You can get a variety of filters, including ones rated for removing industrial chemicals etc. I favor filter upgrades for these machines.

Thank you for your reply, very interesting.mlmollenkamp wrote: ↑Sun Aug 24, 2025 7:24 pmI use an adapter on my Resmed 10 machines that lets you use 2097 Bayonet Filters. My concern is, do these after market filters restrict airflow and potentially damage the machine's motor? Do you have to change the machine setting to 'YES' for 'AB filter fitted'?
Also, may I ask you for some links to what you're describing. I've searched Amazon UK based on what you've told me, but can only find 2097 filters of different sizes. If I put the word 'bayonet' in my search, I get light bulbs
TIA

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
In theory this looks great! IF you're concerned about the stock filter being inadequate that is.
In practice? It all depends on the quality and implementation of this design.
These seems to be rather pricy. If I'm reading it right, three filters for $55? Including the 'adapter'? Yikes! The refills are $22/4 pack. Again, pricy. But if it's peace of mind you're looking for, along with filtered air, this may be for you.
As for your question about setting the machine for AB filter. In my opinion, uninformed as it may be, I don't think that the AB filter setting needs to be activated.

It takes less time to do a thing right than to explain why you did it wrong.

I agree, they're pricey. I would prefer to try a cheaper recommended alternative first but ultimately, if it's something that benefits me health-wise and improves quality of life, then I don't mind paying. Problem is, there's no way of knowing before trying something, fairly long term I would imagine.
I've been suffering with some sinus issues for about a year or so, which may or may not be PAP related. I recently changed to distilled water in my humidifier, after years of using UK tap water. The NHS advice here seems to be boiled and cooled tap water, rightly or wrongly. Distilled water is expensive in the UK, so I bought a £50 distiller from Amazon and now make my own. Again, I'm not sure if tap water use could be the cause of sinus issues, either way the distilled keeps my humidifier looking brand new.

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
Search Amazon for resmed filter cover adapter airsense 2097 bayonet I see them for both the 10 and 11 machines.
As for filter restriction. These filters have much more surface area than the standard filter so less airflow resistance. In any case the machine compensates for any sort of restriction, which it has to do for dirty filters, or for altitude. There is no need to set the bacteria filter, the air filter is upstream of the machine whereas the bacteria filter is is in the air delivery path. The machine models the delivery path, including the hose type, mask type, and bacteria filter in order to predict what the mask pressure actually is. But the filter is upstream so its outside the modeling, the airflow is measured at that point.

Re: CS HEPA Filter for ResMed 10 & 11
It's not on Amazon UK so I'd have to import from the US, which is fine as I can get the filters here. This looks like a good Idea and much cheaper than the HEPA, thanks for the info.mlmollenkamp wrote: ↑Mon Aug 25, 2025 8:12 pmSearch Amazon for resmed filter cover adapter airsense 2097 bayonet I see them for both the 10 and 11 machines.
