At home BiPAP study

Post by kwikwater » Wed Aug 13, 2025 6:56 am

I just got home from a bi-pap study, where just like my other sleep studies, I forgot to sleep!! This was ordered by my electrophsyologist to see about getting my overnight 02 up from 88-90%, dipping to 82-84% 2-3 times a night for 5-6 minutes. I'm not finding much about at home bi-pap titration studies. Other than trying setting different every night, I can't see how it would work. I do have a recording pulse-ox, so can cover that. I've used a Pap-Cap for 15 years and just switched to a scuba divers full hood, that's way cheaper and has worked great for my vent & leak rate and 02 levels, that I was compromising with mouth leaks from my nasal pillow. Is a home study something to ask for, or should I get them to let me use all the sleep toys I use now.

A home study (HST) is for diagnostic purposes only. It does not provide suggested machine settings.

I assume you already have a legitimate diagnosis that is accepted by your insurance company. Use your "toys" and a free account at SleepHQ.com. Let cpaptalk members help you with machine settings.
