Ahi reading

Post by Plippy » Sun May 18, 2025 12:53 pm

Notice I’ve been getting an Ahi of 0 . At least 5 times in a month. Using resmed 10 . Anyone else have had this happen. Make me wonder . Am I responding to therapy that good? 6 month on Cpap.
Intitial ahi when I did sleep study 26.6 . Numbers are usually between 0.1 and 0.9 and occasional 1.1
Waking up well rested

I have had that 0.0 on occasion but even more interesting is that when I do have an AHI less than 1.0 (which is really quite often) I find that I might have flagged 2 or 3 events over the night but when I look at the breathing up close I can see that I wasn't really asleep when they got flagged. So my real "asleep" AHI is actually 0.0 for those nights as well.
Almost always my AHI is composed of probably 75% of those "not asleep" flagged events and if not asleep they don't count and aren't real and other than it pointing to not being sound asleep they mean nothing.

you are, indeed, responding that well to therapy. and good work. it took me nine years to get my therapy dialed in!

huh! haven't looked at my charts since feb 7, says oscar. so i pulled stuff up to see if mine was down to false events flagged while awake. unfortunately, no.

seems i've got a 6 month average of 1.14 and 30 day average of 1.38. once i gave up completely on trying to lower my ahi and concentrated on comfort, the numbers took care of themselves.

for those not aware, dog isn't my enemy or anything like that.

BUT I do believe he relishes post his zero ahi, just to get my goat.

I just checked my report from April 1.
AHI was 1.49 over not quite 10 hours with machine on. I can't say I was asleep that whole time because I know I wasn't.
I am having some newer pain issues to complicate things.

So total events were Centrals at 3, OAs at 11 and 1 hyponea.
Every single one of those flagged events was post arousal or SWJ. I can't say that I was asleep for even one of those flagged events.

I don't really bother to look at the details all that often. It never really changes much except for the 2 times last year I had a truckload of centrals pop up and don't know why. AHI was well over 10.0 when that happened though.

practically all of mine is positional apnea. I wear a belly bag to keep off me of my back. BUT every now and then, sleepy zonker whips the thing off and that's when my ahi gets up into the 1.8 to 2.8 range.

I can mostly get away with that if it's after 4 am for some reason.¯\_(ツ)_/¯
