I just bought an IntelliPAP2.........
Re: I just bought an IntelliPAP2.........
I think it needs to be said also that many, if not most doctors, 'sleep' or otherwise, have large gaps (to say the least) in their knowledge of the machines and how they work. Even if the hospital put out certain numbers based on the one night test, that doesn't mean it was ideal by a long shot and it's incumbent on us as the patients to do some of our own research, to tweak pressures, etc. as we feel the need and come to our own consensus not only about the numbers, but how we feel, especially after e.g. a 3 nite test of a particular pressure and/or its change. Understanding how apnea works (as doctors supposedly do) does not mean they understand how to fix it technically at all, and the techs who test you on a given night- who knows?

Re: I just bought an IntelliPAP2.........
Thank you for your reminder; explore the answer to the question and don't forget the nature of the problem.
Yes! I woke up these mornings and I felt full of energy.
However, the throat and mouth will feel dry, and the abdomen will be uncomfortable due to the air filled with swallowing, and will continue to fart.
This is what I didn't happen when I used the old machine (DV54D).
I feel the relationship of pressure increase; the pressure of the old machine is 5--9 cmH2O, the average pressure is 7.5cmH2O; the average value of AHI measured by the old machine is 3 times/hour, everything is normal.
I think the original threshold for detecting Hypopnea events is different; the new machine is more sensitive. As a result, the new machine will increase the pressure of the airflow to stop the Hypopnea event.
I have been adapting to the newly purchased DV64D; I believe it is better than the DV54D, but I have not been able to control its performance very well.
Changing the threshold setting of HA--Hypopnea will greatly change the ability of CPAP to respond to airflow reduction.
I have always wanted to find a comfortable, gentle, and efficient setting method that can be achieved with old machines and used on new machines.
If not, I, I might consider switching to an older model.
Very struggling!
I used the oximeter to record the oxygen saturation and pulse rate throughout the night. The main purpose is to master the ultimate goal of respiratory therapy.
Comfort throughout the night (low air pressure, avoiding Arousal), high oxygen saturation (>88%, allowing all internal organs to rest fully) for optimal sleep.

Re: I just bought an IntelliPAP2.........
An interesting experiment.
I found that if I increase the upper limit of the pressure, my average pressure and 90%, 95% will increase the pressure value, which will be close to the upper limit; the highest has been adjusted to 15 cmH2O, but the number of respiratory events will not be too large Changes (AHI, RDI, HY, CA, OA, ,,,). But the air leak will increase, and the feeling of waking up in the morning is different; my favorite pressure range is 6-10 cmH2O, SmartFlex 3 (Full-Time).
It is easier to have a CA event within 30 minutes of sleeping and before waking up.

In the world, Taiwan's "public health insurance" should be highly respected by most countries in the world.
However, only the treatment of "disease" and the vaccination of some infectious diseases have insurance benefits; while OSA does not have immediate harm, the use of CPAP machines is not covered by medical insurance.
The price of a CPAP machine bought by a local legal agent is about three times that of the US online sales price. Even the local-made CPAP machines in Taiwan are equally expensive. And medical equipment (CPAP) is regulated in Taiwan, and individuals cannot import it.
With surgical treatment, medical insurance is paid.
It’s incredible.

How well are you doing with CPAP?
