Change pressure on bpap machine?

OK, I was told to start my own topic. I’ve been on an air curve 11 machine. With a air vent F 30i full face mask the pressure reads 13/17, which is too much. This is a BiPAP machine. I don’t know which reading is in tag and outtake. I’ve been on this machine for almost 2 months. Is there any way to change the air pressure? I need to lesson the amount of air. It blows my mouth wide open. The machine also shuts off by itself at night. I’m losing more sleep than I’m gaining. Thanks in advance.

You don't have a plain bipap/bilevel machine. You have an ASV bilevel machine. Important to know and understand the difference.

So.....exactly what settings are you going to change? Do you understand what the settings do?
And during your diagnostic sleep study did they decide to give you ASV because of central apneas being too numerous.

If you say so. All I know is it says air curve 11 and they told me the mask was BiPAP and all I know is the pressure is way too much. They give me this machine with little instructions and keep making excuses as to why I’m having problems even though I follow their suggestions. Like I said all I know is it blows my mouth wide open because of the high air pressure I try to keep my mouth closed and breathe through my nose, but when I fall asleep, I start breathing through my mouth. I’ve navigated the interface, but have found no way to increase or decrease the pressure thank you.

I know these machines backwards and forwards. If you don't want to believe me then that's fine too.

So I say so and with good reason.

If you don't know your exact machine model and why you are using it then you probably shouldn't be changing stuff that you don't understand.

Post an OSCAR report...it will show settings and exact model name.
And if you are using ASV then you really probably shouldn't be dialawingin on your own. You could possible cause a problem.
If you can't keep your mouth shut then you need to tape it closed or use a full face mask instead of a nasal mask (which shows in your equipment profile).

Yeah, on a BiPAP, the 17 is your inhale pressure and 13 is the exhale. That’s a decent gap, but it can feel like a lot if the mask fit isn’t perfect or you’re not used to it.

If it’s blowing your mouth open, you might need to lower the pressure or use something like a soft collar to help keep your jaw in place. You can change the pressure settings yourself if the machine isn’t locked, just hold the Home and Dial buttons to enter clinical mode. But it’s safer to ask your doctor or provider first
