I had been using cheapo chin straps from Amazon that worked OK , but were not particularly comfortable and its Velcro tabs occasionally would get stuck to Velcro on the mask headgear which was a nuisance. I had a pair of Hanes shorts that had failed where the cotton fabric had separated from the elastic waist band. The elasticity of the waist band was still good and somewhere I got the idea to try the waistband as a chin strap. A couple of safety pins were used to size the band to a comfortable fit and tie down the loose end. I hardly notice it while wearing it and it effectively does what is intended to do. The headgear of the mask aids in holding it place through the night and it hasn't slipped from position yet while using it. (No, there won't be a photograph of myself wearing it

)
Again, Laugh and make jokes if you so wish, but I was able to recycle something that otherwise may have gone to the trash and it works well

Brings up fond memories of the days rested gal taught us how to use pantyhose for the well beloved, alas extinct, Aiomed Headrest Aura mask....it was a case of cut off the headgear, (all of it!) leave only the hose and nasal pillows, and use pantyhose to strap it to your head.
That was some noisy mask, by the way. But oh, so comfortable!
We used to have lab rat awards too!
And now here is my secret, a very simple secret; it is only with the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye.
