Hello,
I was wondering if anyone could help me identify these screenshotted events in Oscar and tell me if they are breathing-related arousals (or not). Attached is screenshot of the full night then some of the individual events: https://imgur.com/a/hJsbBqd. Here is a link to the Sleep HQ data: https://sleephq.com/public/ec588ae1-24b ... 31cc0540f9
I have been using my BIPAP for almost 2 years now but have not fully resolved my symptoms. My settings are currently 14 EPAP, 19 IPAP with a PS minimum of 4. My doctor originally titrated me to a pressure of EPAP 15, PS 2-4 and I have tried pressures as low as 10 EPAP, but still didn't feel better so I have slowly increased increased both my EPAP and IPAP without going beyond a PS of 5. I recently saw a new sleep doctor but she only looked at my AHI and didn't really address my concerns about RERAs.
Last night, my AHI was shockingly 0 (it is never this low) but I consistently see these types of events throughout the night and am not sure if they're breathing events or not. They generally look like a spike followed by a long pause in breathing. Even today with 0 AHI and a decent amount of sleep, my brain does not feel fully rested. Am I still having events that the machine is just not flagging? Are all the "spikes" in the data arousals or are those normal?
Any input would be appreciated, thank you!!

Re: Help recognizing events in Oscar?
What are your symptoms?
When did you decide on a lower EPAP than the doctor recommended, and why?
Did you have a lab titration?
ResMed machines like yours don't have variable PS.wih a PS 2-4 and I have tried pressures as low as 10 EPAP, but still didn't feel better.
Looking at Oscar, you're still snoring - albeit gently, and you have a pretty constant leak.
If those were my leaks, they would wake me up - so for me, I'd have to handle both the snoring [assuming it's not an artifact] and the leaks.
Take the cursor, point it to all those place where you see you breath flow point up sharply, and check what happens in the leak line. I wonder if you not going through repeated cycles of mouth leak, arousal, close mouth, fall asleep, mouth leak, etc.
I also wonder if that snoring in related to the open mouth and leaks.
Have you ever tried an FFM or taping?
Did you ever try EPAP= 15, as recommended?

Read this thread and pay attention to the examples and explanations I wrote.
See if that helps clear things up....if not, ask what needs to be cleared up better.
