new CPAP user-looking for help

Post by dml247 » Tue Jul 09, 2024 11:42 am

I am nose breather who has switched a few times and now have an AirFit N30i, which definitely feels more comfortable than the other two I've tried. I move in my sleep and the top pivot hose is a better fit for me.

I still take it off every night in my sleep (or wakefulness). I seem to wake up after 1.5-3 hrs and feel uncomfortable and remove it and sleep the rest of the night. My readings are good when I have it on. I have a mild case (AHI ~10) and with the mask will be around 1-3. I just can't keep it on. The humidity setting has been 2, make it higher? Use the tube heater?

I also often have a stuffy nose and can't use it. Are nasal strips and sprays the best bet there?

Thanks in advance.

Humidity and temp change the stuffiness of your nose -- though nobody but you can tell whether you need more of either or less - it's trial and error.

ResMed has a full face mask that's very similar to the Airfit N30i. Called Airfit F30i, it lets you breathe through your mouth when the need arises, without losing therapy pressure.

If you want to know what happens just before you wake up and take the mask off, use an SD card to record the night's events.
