Back pain due to pressure being too high?

Last week, I had the pressure on my machine increased to 9 from 7. The first night was fine, but the second night, I woke up in the middle of the night because my upper back was aching. So much so that it was difficult to fall back asleep. I thought it was kinda weird because I haven't done anything to strain my back recently, but I just brushed it off thinking maybe I slept wrong. Since then, I wake up at the same time every night with an aching upper back. The only thing I've done differently lately was the pressure increase on my machine. Is it possible the pressure is too high thus causing this?

Edit: I should mention my back is only sore while I'm sleeping. Feels fine during the day, like nothing is wrong at all.

Edit 2: past couple of nights, after I woke up because of the pain, I removed my mask and managed to fall back asleep for a little while. When I woke up, the pain was completely/mostly gone.

Not likely.
Back pain needs to be addressed early--before it gets ugly.
See a doctor.

My back bothers me more than it used to before APAP.
I finally came to the conclusion that I am sleeping much more soundly.
So I do not wake as often and sleep in the same position longer than I did before.
Thus the back ache.
For me I think I will adjust and all will be well in time.

Years of flopping around all night.
Then the change to solid sleep takes time for the body to adjust to.

CPAP involves a lot of adjustment.
This is just one more.

That is my take.
May not be yours.

My back only aches in bed in the morning.
No problem during the day.

Actually, 9 is a relatively low pressure. If your pressure was considerably higher. i would suspect that the lungs may be the culprit. Have you lowered the pressure back to 7 to see if the ache goes away?

I called to have it lowered. So I will find out tonight if the pressure had anything to do with it. The past couple of nights, after I woke up due to the pain, I removed my CPAP mask to drink some water. I left my mask off and managed to fall back asleep for an hour or so. When I woke back up, the pain was completely gone on both nights. Though weird, I feel like the pressure increase is causing it.

I've experienced something similar with pressure adjustments on my machine. It's possible that the increase to level 9 might be too high for you, especially if it's causing discomfort only at night. Adjusting the pressure back down or consulting a physiotherapist in Vancouver could help determine if the pressure settings are indeed the culprit and provide guidance on managing any resulting discomfort.
