z2 Travel CPAP pressure question

Post by slowmo2000 » Mon Apr 01, 2024 7:27 am

Hi all,

Just bought the z2 Travel CPAP and am trying to figure out pressures. For my airsense 11 I'm on APAP (12 - 13) with EPR at 3. When I set up the z2 with the same numbers it feels like the pressure on inhalation is too low (not getting enough air) but the expiration pressure feels crazy high. I'm using an n30i mask. Would love thoughts/tips.

Thanks!

Why did you buy a travel machine?

This doesn't make sense. It sounds like you are saying the exhalation pressure is higher than the inhalation pressure.

It has 'z-breathe technology', which means proprietary, EPR algorithms. You are used to different ones. As has been noted by Uncle Nick, RM EPR in effect lowers your therapy pressure... to get the same support you have to *increase* your min iPap for every EPR count.

I could not find the Z2 manual online but I assume like others you have 3 levels to play with, and you have 'z-breathe' set at 3, the max. I'd set your min iPap at 9 and try that, that's probably what you're used to.

I've experienced both issues with my Z1, although not at the same time. I needed to increase the minimum pressure over my System One (at the time) to get enough air volume. I also found I get too high exhalation pressure when the hose adapter backs out slightly. Make sure it is fully inserted.

I wanted to get a machine that could be battery operated. We go camping :)
