I have been sleeping with a full mask CPAP for over 20 years now and absolutely love it. I recently had a sleep study that recommended a BiPAP for home use. During the sleep study, I not only felt suffocated by the humidifier but became filled with anxiety when the BiPAP was initiated. It was horrible having air shot into my face with the mask flapping around. Apparently I did better on it than on the CPAP, thus the recommendation.
Can I turn off the heated humidifier and still get the same results? What are the chances I’ll ever get used to the BiPAP itself?
I’m frustrated.

The purpose of a CPAP humidifier is to help prevent drying of the nasal airway. Some of us don't use the humidifier because our passages don't get dry. The only way you can get an answer to your question is to try it!cgoehring78 wrote: ↑Mon Apr 01, 2024 9:31 amCan I turn off the heated humidifier and still get the same results?
BTW, what is your humidifier setting? It might be set too high. You could try some lower settings before trying no humidity.
