Resmed Airsense 10- EXTRA Large Water Tank

Post by kevincpap » Thu Feb 04, 2021 5:04 pm

Hi. I'm new to the group. Does anyone know if an extra large water tank is available for the Resmed Airlfow 10? I fill it ecvery day and it would be a bit more convenient if I could fill irt every other day or every 3rd day. No big deal if not. Thanks!

No. There is one size only.
You will get used to adding water nightly....I have been doing it over 11 years now.

I saw a story a while back, think it's on YouTube, on how to modify the humidity tank to hold more water. But it WASN'T easy, and took up too much space for me to try it.
I'd bet that someone with a 3D printer COULD design a larger tank quite easily.

It's so refreshing to have a new person *ask a question* instead of coming in here and spouting nonsensical "advice".

Thank you.

Here’s my DIY post from years ago on extending the tank - this is still working great for me. Only thing I added is a velcro strap around the Rubbermaid tank as occasionally the pressure would open the latches on it. (i have high pressure - 15-18)

I don't like filling my tank in the evening, so I do it earlier in the day.
One less thing to remember at bedtime.

I am in the same boat. I load the reservoir on my ResMed Airsense 10 to full capacity, and the water is gone halfway through the night, and I wake up with a bad case of dry mouth. I guess since I am at an age where I am up at 2 AM to pee, I can keep feeding the reservoir, but that is really inconvenient.

If you are running through all of the water in your tank before the night is over, consider whether you might be mouth breathing. While it doesn't matter pressure-wise in a FF mask, it makes a difference to your therapy in a nasal mask, and in any mask it can cause a lot of drying of the mucous membranes that can cause tooth decay.

Unless your climate is very dry, it shouldn't be happening on a regular basis unless you are mouth breathing.

If you have a really big bedside table, you can use an external tank such as the CSpring. Personally I find the existing Resmed tank is just big enough.

The tank is designed to hold enough water for 8 hours,
unless your house is really dry--or your mouth hangs open for hours.

I tried the various tank modifications and none were very successful for me. I have 1 tank that I bought for that set aside if I ever want to restart project pincusion again.

I just worked on my leak control and pretty much have it at zero and using a FFM. Once I got rid of the leaks and the mouth breathing I stopped running out of water at night.

Before that I just had a second tank that I filled when I did the first and left it on the nightstand beside the machine. If/when I woke up anytime in the night I would just swap them out.
