Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
A friend washed her hose and now can’t get all the moisture out. I remember there is a way to set up the ResMed to blow continuously to dry the hose, but I can’t remember how.
Pugsy or anyone?

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
SmartStart has to be turned off and then the machine will just blow air until you tell it to stop and you don't have to be attached to it.
In this situation with the AirSense 10 machine I would turn off the heat to the humidifier (don't want to be adding more moisture to the hose) and then turn off SmartStart.
Then just push the button to start the machine blowing and just let it blow. Don't worry about setting the pressure because without a person attached there is no resistance and it's going to blow full force anyway.

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
I can't see an option called smartstart but I have this problem every week when I rinse the hose. I'm waking up two or three times breathing in my own exhalation, and the solution for me has been to dry the mesh of the nasal mask, which works for so long but then it happens again.
So I went looking for smartstart and there's "run mask fit" which blows strong. if I push the nosepad against the bedsheets I think I'm forcing air through the mesh, fingers crossed it will dry it.
But there's also Ramp Time: Auto. I'm wondering if I change that to something long like 45 minutes (just for cleaning) whether that's, basically, switching off smartstart.
Thoughts?
Also .. I don't want to mess up the stats back at the office, I guess I should let them know what I'm doing.

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
it's right there under options. you know how to get there, right?
also, you aren't breathing your own exhalations. that's why there's a vent in the hose. if you were breathing your own exhalations, you'd be dead.

huh? you mean you set the humidity to zero. at least that's what i do. then turn the heat up to full throttle.Pugsy wrote: ↑Wed May 09, 2018 10:17 pmSmartStart has to be turned off and then the machine will just blow air until you tell it to stop and you don't have to be attached to it.

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
re breathing in my own exhalations, as I understand it, just the other side of the nose-bit are two mesh-like grills. I assume that's how exhaled air gets out.
My theory is when wet, there are fewer holes, so more of my exhalation sticks around. I wake up taking huge lungfuls of unsatisfying air. When I dry those meshes (the cloth I use gets wet so I know those meshes are wet), everything's cool again for an hour maybe.
It only happens after I've flushed the hose, and it's every time. Last night the machine counted 4 hours sleep.
I have a humidifier.
I may take a snap of the setup screen I've got ..

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
I don't understand. I wash/soak my hose once per week and on the day that do this, Mondays, when I go to bed there's moisture in my hose, the droplets are very visible in the tubing. The next morning, today in fact, when I wake and look at the hose, it's completely void of visible moisture.
What happens to your friend's hose under the same circumstances?

Re: Setting an ResMed Airsense 10 Autoset for hose drying
Attached the options I have (actually not, 'the board attachment quota has been reached'). So under My Options I have Ramp Time (Auto), Humidity Level (4), Mask (Nasal), Run Mask Fit (which blows hard when not fitted, so that's useful), Run Warmup (I'm not aware of it heating the water tbh) and Airplane Mode (off). I'm thinking to get it to blow dry: set humidity low and do a mask fit, that's my next try anyways.

Same here, I just looked at the date from Janknitz last post and thought that the thread was current.

How does that work, really?
Especially if the cpap is a BRICK?
The usage hours odometer still merrily rolls along.
