After using Philips CPAP for 12 years, I switched over to Resmed Airsense 10 in January. Even though I liked the Resmed machine more than the Philips machine I used for 12 years, I faced a very serious issue with Resmed right from the start. I am a creature of habit sleeping every night between 6.5 to 7.0 hours keeping the machine on continuously except for a ten minute bathroom break. However, most nights SD card recorded usage hours much less the hour the machine was on. When I posted the problem online people came up with ideas like internal clock, too much leakage, or tossing and turning in bed. Unfortunately, none of these ideas had anything to do with my problem.
In April, I made appointment with my DME provider. The person dealing with came up with the same crazy ideas and even suggested that I have been turning off my machines multiple times during the night. Turning it off over 30 times during the night!!. But something happened and she changed my machine. Guess what I kept having the same problem with the new machine, perhaps worse.
Reading SD card using OSCAR I discovered that the machine stops recording data multiple time without the machine turning off, except for the 10 minute bathroom break. So, I started thinking why. I know the machine interprets the small fluctuation in pressure due to breathing pattern and the configuration of the mask. In my case, this led multiple breaks in data recording, often too many times.
So, I made another appointment on June 26. This time the person dealing with me came up with the same crazy ideas and told me she doesn't use OSCAR. I have been using nasal pillow. I requested that it should be changed nasal mask. This had dramatic effect, my problem vanished like magic. Here is on/off data on MyAir:
2 times: 10 nights
3 times: 1 night
4 times: 1 night
12 times: 1 night (from OSCAR)
I any one is using nasal pillow and having the same problem I had, please change to nasal mask or full face mask.
It's the Mask Stupid!
Re: It's the Mask Stupid!
you do know you've posted this exact same topic before?

not trying to sound harsh or bullying or what have you, but it's pretty much a good idea to stay in one thread. in your previous thread, you were given advice on how to post oscar data, but you didn't. in fact you didn't reply at all.
if you need further help posting those charts, please ask.
because what you are doing here is asking us to take your word for it. it would help tremendously if we could see the before and after data.
good luck!
