Still symptomatic/weird flow rate?

Post by Ardeo77 » Wed Jun 14, 2023 7:26 pm

Hello. To make a long story as short as I can, I started having choking and gasping fits when I was 17 or so. As the years rolled on I began to get anxiety, which wasn't like me, brain fog, baggy eyes, started snoring, more fatigue and so on. Its gotten worse has times gone on and after a while decided to get a sleep study. Didn't have insurance or money for a in lab so I did lofta. Had an AHI of 2 an RDI of 11 and my lowest oxygen was 93. They diagnosed me with OSA and I got a resmed airsense 10. I put the pressure between 7 and 14 waited for results. They never came, tried MAD, cervical collars, different masks, mouth taping and so on. One night however, I had a higher pressure and slept somewhat inclined, and I awake after years feeling normal, it was truly amazing. I did nothing different during this time other than my sleep setup. However, the next night, back to crap sleep and so it continued. I thought this good night was due to potion but other attempts at such bore no fruit and I instead suspect pressure. Recently as my health's gotten worse, I felt that there's no way my sleep could be good. Sleeping 9 hours with a APAP only to nod off mid day and sleep 3 more hours every day. When I don't wear a APAP, I wake 6 plus times a night, or wake up to pee and feel awful. I talked with some people on other forums and despite a low AHI and despite my RERA's being low (Ive heard this can be very inaccurate for cpap machines however) when checking Oscar, a few people drew attention to my flow rate and flow limitations on my results. I switched to CPAP pressure, turned off EPR and am working to get my pressure up to 10. I am already seeing some positive results, but cannot tolerate the pressure to well yet and am only at 7.6. Looking further at my data and from what people have told me, along with symptoms, they and I to some degree, suspect UARs. Don't know much about it, but I seem to fit the criteria. My breathing is so erratic at night. There are readings on the flow rate that im sure are false CAs or just turning in my sleep that the machine ignores, but comparing my flow rate to others peoples, who have a rhythm, mine is very erratic and has a lot of flat peaks and so on. Can somebody, anybody give me some idea of what's going on? How could my RERA's be so low, AHI so low, yet I feel so horrible? My flow rate looks so off and I rarely have even 5 minutes of a normal breathing pattern. I have a bad nose, deviated septum and such, and I do mouth tape, but im not sure how much that has to do with it. I am posting a image link below which shows some glimpses of my flow rate, etc, and I would be happy to provide more data. Blood work and other tests show im great, dont feel it, and my symptoms definitely revolve around sleep and these frequent arousals. Any help, would be truly appreciated.

Have you tried sleeping inclined (or whatever you did that time that it worked and you felt good), again?

If you're a full time back-sleeper, have you tried side-sleeping?

The image you posted, from Friday June 9, shows you using APAP, with a minimum of 6, a maximum of 12, and not CPAP. Any special reason for posting an image of APAP?

Please format future images according to the instructions on the very first post on this forum - we need to see flow limitations and snores.

I was using APAP for years with no success, I switched over to CPAP due to recommendation. Considering trying it again however with a higher min pressure
