Tips for keeping P10 mask on through the night?

Post by RES9372 » Sat Jun 17, 2023 6:12 am

I find this mask to be pretty comfortable, but for some reason I always wake up in the middle of the night with the mask on the ground. I average around 7 hours of sleep a night, but only about half is with the mask on. Any advice for keeping this on? I only started CPAP treatment about 3 weeks ago, so maybe it’s just getting used to it.

Yeah, getting accustomed is part of the solution. In the meantime, some have taped the straps to their head.

To follow up on ChicagoGranny's post, you can run tape across a strap and fasten it to your face at both ends. You'll feel the tug when you try to take the mask off, and that will wake you up and help you leave it on.

Other ideas I've heard over the years include putting socks on your hands and putting a hat on your head that can be tied under your chin.

When applying tape, get a tiny bit of HAIR under the tape.
It only takes a little, because the pain is enough to wake you up.
Also, the risk might be enough to encourage you to leave it alone.
