wife is normally binge watching some Netflix series at night.
Could be worse. Hallmark channel seems to be my wife's drug of choice.

A husband's fate worse than death. Actually if I come to bed and my wife is still watching TV, I put on my CPAP mask and eye mask. And if the sound bothers me, I put in an ear plug in the ear not in the pillow.

ear plug
I got in the habit of wearing ear plugs to sleep when I worked nights and lived in a noisy area of Brooklyn, NY. I still wear them, even though where I live now is eerily ("earily" in this context?) quiet. Our smoke alarm and fire alarm system is loud, so I feel safe sleeping in ear plugs. And I think I sleep better when my brain doesn't have to process rain, bird hits, occasional distant overhead planes, etc. I believe even very low noises can sometimes kick one into a lighter stage of sleep.
