Do I need to transfer ownership of my Dreamstation 2 that I received as replacement for my recalled machine? If so, how would I do that?
Philips claimed that they never received my Rx, so they sent the replacement Auto CPAP set to auto settings.
I have someone interested in buying it but their sleep technician claims that I need to cancel my Rx (or ownership or something - I'm not too sure on what they mean) with Philip's first. The machine is still in the box and I'd rather sell it new in the box.

The "sleep technician" is not necessary.
Anything he says does not matter.
The buyer can be his own tech.
The patient can do as he wishes with a machine that he paid for.
Tell your buyer his "tech" is likely grifting him.

Re: Do I need to transfer Dreamstation 2?
Disclaimer.......The following is based on my own experience and to be taken with a grain of salt
Maybe transferring ownership 'might' be needed. It depends. In all likelihood the DS2 you got is registered and on file in a Philips database to your name, address, and other pertinent information they have regarding you. If you ever had a previous Philips machine registered on DreamMapper the new to you DS2 information and serial number 'might' replace the previous machine that you had registered there when the machine is powered on. My DreamMapper DS1 information was replaced with the DS2 replacement information (including the DS2 serial number) when I powered it on when the Philips system recognized it through the cellular connection. This probably applies to the Philips Orchestrator software as well that the sleep tech would use to monitor CPAP usage for compliance and tweaking of settings if needed. If the buyer attempts to register the machine in DreamMapper he/she might not be able to as name and personal data may not match. May depend if the buyer needs interaction with the sleep tech and if so, whether the sleep tech could use data from OSCAR. Or if the buyer can or is willing to not use the sleep tech and manage his/her own settings
You could try contacting the email address below with your question regarding transferring the DS2. They responded fairly quickly when I had some issues.

Re: Do I need to transfer Dreamstation 2?
The buyer and or their sleep Technician seem a little confused. The buyers Prescription settings would need to be loaded into the dreamstation by using the Clinical menu. It's simple to do and you can get the instructions online. Even if a prescription was set you can change or update it using the clinical menu.CpapUser100 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 9:19 pmDo I need to transfer ownership of my Dreamstation 2 that I received as replacement for my recalled machine? I also received DS2 for my old System one with default settings and no perscription set. My system one was used on Dreammapper and the replacement machines were not registered to me on dreammapper.
