Water in mask resolved

Post by Shannon1dempsey » Wed Dec 14, 2022 9:16 am

I posted a month or two ago and got great advice. I just want to thank everyone. I realized I was getting water in my mask because it was a new mask and I was getting a better seal. By lowering the moisture from the machine from 8 to 6 I no longer have water in my mask. I may be switching to a full-face mask due to breathing through my mouth too much and waking with a really sore throat. I haven't been using it much lately because I fall asleep while watching TV so I've been using Breathe Right strips and a humidifier. If I don't watch TV and put on my CPAP mask, it may take a couple of hours to fall asleep. I have an appointment to talk to someone about it soon.

Curious which full face mask? They are harder to get used to in my experience.

You might do better with mouth taping along with the well fitting mask.

be mindful that the breathe right strips might keep your nose open, but they aren’t going to do anything for the back of your throat collapsing into your airway. I hope you can find a way to make it work for you to use the CPAP without so much interruption.

It may be harder to find the right one - but once you do.... for me the FFM has to be a hybrid. Couldn't use the ones that go up to the bridge of your nose.
